Help Lisa stay in her home

Lisa has been sick, on and off, since the spring of 2015 with two hospital stays that year. In December of 2016 she started to get sick again. Her Doctors started treating her for stomach ulcers. In April of 2017 they thought it might be Crohn's disease but the following month Lisa was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Within 3 days of our first meeting with the oncologist she had surgery to remove the mass. During the surgery Lisa's doctor discovered that her cancer was already stage 4. She lost a third of her stomach, 3" of her small intestine, her gallbladder and 12 lymph nodes. Lisa has been through six months of chemo and two months of radiation treatments. In January of this year Lisa was hospitalized with a bowel obstruction. She was hospitalized again in February and needed another surgery. The surgeon removed another cancerous mass and her remaining small bowel. Although, this latest surgery has saved Lisa's life, she will never be cancer-free. Since she has been home her weakened state has made it difficult for Lisa to navigate our stairs and get in and out of the bathtub without help. We have lived in our home for the last 26 years, and Lisa would prefer not to leave. But since she fell on the stairs last week, we need to put in an accessible bathroom on the first floor to accommodate Lisa's condition, so that she can stay in our home.
