Help Lisa Schlifer Battle ALS & Cherish Her Days

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers, I come to you with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit as I share the story of my sister, Lisa Yang Schlifer, a resilient woman, a loving mother, a loving daughter, a caring sister, a caring aunt, and a compassionate friend to many.

Just before her 40th birthday, in September 2023, Lisa was confronted with a devastating diagnosis: ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. ALS is a relentless foe that gradually robs individuals of their muscle control, leading to paralysis while leaving their senses and intellect intact. There is currently no cure for this disease, and it carries a life expectancy of 2 to 5 years post-diagnosis.

Lisa's journey with ALS began subtly, with difficulties in opening a water bottle and progressed to a point where she now battles with weakness and stiffness that have stolen her ability to carry out the simplest of tasks. Lisa's life has been marked by dedication and sacrifice. She has been a single mother and a widow since 2010, raising her daughter and a niece, who she has cared for since birth, along other niece, nephews, cousins, a beam supporter to her families, and all the pet's (mainly dog's) she has rescued and adopted.
Her work ethic snice adolescents has been unparalleled; being a former Director of a Daycare Center, she poured her soul into her job, as she was passionate with children's, only to see it close at the end of 2022. Resulting her career path short in a Human Resource (HR) position.
But now, Lisa's battle with ALS has forced her to retire early, leaving her with mounting medical expenses and the need for specialized care. Our family is rallying to support her, but we cannot do it alone. This is why we are reaching out to you through this GoFundMe campaign.

Your support will make a difference! By contributing to Lisa's fund, you will help alleviate the financial burdens of her medical treatment, daily care, and the adaptations required at home to improve her quality of life.
Every donation will also afford Lisa the precious opportunity to create lasting memories with her daughter, who has already experienced the pain of losing her father, and her niece, who knows Lisa as a mother figure.
No amount is too small, and every dollar brings Lisa closer to comfort and peace in her journey.
Spread the word about Lisa's GoFundMe campaign on social media, by email, or through word of mouth.

We understand that these are challenging times for everyone, and your willingness to help means the world to us. Your generosity is not just a donation; it's a lifeline for Lisa and her loved ones. We are eternally grateful for your kindness, and we promise to keep you updated on Lisa's journey.
