Help Lisa keep her house

HOLY COW FOLKS.  WE DID IT. The money needed was raised in less than 72 hours. I will be going in to City Hall tomorrow to pay the 2016 taxes. I will post up a receipt.

This is Lisa Cole.  A very dedicated, compassionate human being.  She cleans up liquid diarrhea from strays, runs food to people, catches loose dogs and cats, takes animals to the Vet and/or clinics and never has one complaint that you will ever see posted anywhere. She quietly goes about what needs to be done.. Lisa was the first person to come to Streethearts Animal Rescue when it started and was very instrumental in getting the rescue off the ground and running properly. Lisa is as solid as it gets in street rescue and is 100% dependable, even in the most difficult of street rescues.

My good friend Lisa needs our help. She is going to be evicted on April 1st, for non payment of her taxes. Long story, she took possession of this house (see land contract) and Lisa has not gotten the proper paperwork from the people who walked away from the home. Like many people, the legal intricacies of a land contract and tax payments got by her and now the ax is going to fall.

Lisa had money put aside to pay her taxes, once ownership of the house was settled. Unfortunately, her Chevy Equinox had to have two major repairs, which amounted to several thousand dollars. She had to have transportation to work. Her income/debt ratio is so tight (can you say working poor?) that she could not fix her car and get her taxes paid, when crunch time came. Things have become desperate and we have not figured out any way to keep the eviction from occurring, other than having the 2016 taxes paid, by April 1st.

Lisa is a very private person and this is beyond embarrassing for her. I have twisted her arm and she knows she and her dogs will be living in her car, unless she gets help from friends. She is actually in the midst of packing her belongings.

The county does not need another vacant house on its tax roles and my friend does not deserve to be on the streets.

The back taxes, with fines and interest, are just over 1375.00. Additional fines and interest are added daily. GoFundMe also charges fees. We are using the total of 1500.00 to cover everything.
