<div>In August, Lira moves from LA to England to join her new husband. Her cats, Jax, rescued in 2011, &amp; Fae, adopted in 2017, have been best buds for over 8 years. Jax’s size (likely a Maine Coon) make it impossible for him to fit under an airline seat. His age, 14 – &amp; his aversion to any kind of travel led Lira to the difficult decision to rehome him. Months of looking, with the help of an agency and friends, for the right spot failed.

<div>Turns out, the right spot for Jax is with Fae &amp; Lira in their new home in West Yorkshire, with Charles.

<div>Lira found a trustworthy pet relocation company, Starwood Pet Travel, that specializes in bringing pets to the UK. They will oversee everything - from delivering an appropriate airline-approved kennel; making sure Jax’s papers are in order; picking Jax up at home; checking him in at LAX; &amp; ensuring he arrives safely in Manchester. There is a comfort stop with a 5-hour layover in Frankfurt, where he will be examined by a vet &amp; given food, water &amp; a litter box. Lira feels confident that Jax will be in good hands.

<div>Bringing a pet into the UK is complicated &amp; those “good hands” don’t come cheap. The total cost for this service is $4,270. Jax also needs his “papers” – vet &amp; USDA-endorsed travel certificate for $900. Total cost for Jax to get to England is $5,170.

<div>Lira &amp; Charles didn’t want any wedding presents, so this is a wonderful way to celebrate their union by keeping their cat family together. Even if you don’t know his humans personally, look at Jax’s sweet face! Don’t you want this guy to stay with his family?
