<div>As many of you know, back in early 2022, my sister Lindy was diagnosed with stage four HER2+ breast cancer. After months of intense treatment—and by the grace of God—she came through it like a champ! Since then, she’s been receiving anti-cancer infusions every two weeks, undergoing regular scans, and has thankfully shown no evidence of disease ever since.

<div>Toward the end of last year, however, one of her scans picked up a suspicious spot. After further testing, it turned out to be a completely unrelated, early-stage (“stage zero” DCIS) cancer. While it’s not an immediate threat, it could become serious if left untreated.

<div>Her oncologist is currently treating it with medication, but has also recommended a mastectomy as the best long-term solution. Lindy is scheduled for surgery on April 17 for the mastectomy and April 24 for reconstruction.

<div>The specific procedure that gives her the strongest path forward isn’t fully covered by insurance, and the out-of-pocket costs are significant.

<div>We’re so thankful to God for bringing her this far. I’m incredibly proud of how she’s handled everything life’s thrown at her while still managing to care for her husband and four kids like a boss.
