<div>De zwaarste klacht is <strong>post-exertionele malaise (PEM): ziek worden na kleine fysieke, mentale of emotionele inspanning. </strong>Dat betekent voor mij keelpijn, migraine, spierpijn, overgevoeligheid voor licht en geluid, brainfog, slapeloosheid, kouwelijkheid en ernstige vermoeidheid/uitputting.

<div>Afgelopen jaren kon ik voorzichtig weer reizen naar de zon, waar mijn lichaam van opknapte. en een paar uur per week een eigen praktijk opbouwen (coaching voor vrouwen met PMDD en perimenopauze klachten).

<div>Maar <strong>dit jaar heb ik opnieuw een hevige terugval, </strong>en ben ik weer<strong> grotendeels huis- en bank gebonden. </strong>Ik kom de dagen door met veel rusten en liggen met oogmasker. Ik heb steun van mijn partner, huishoudelijke hulp, en inmiddels kan ik gelukkig weer zelf koken :)

<div>Douchen of haren wassen doe ik zo min mogelijk omdat dit me ziek laat voelen alsof ik griep heb en me de rest van de dag uitput.

<div>Ondanks ontelbaar veel reguliere en alternatieve behandelingen afgelopen 21 jaar ben ik niet hersteld. Maar ik heb wél veel geleerd en hoop gehouden.

<div>Er is goed nieuws: er bestaat een behandeling –
</div>
<div><strong>Neuro Physics Therapy (NPT)</strong> – die <strong>veelbelovende resultaten laat zien bij ME/CVS.</strong>
</div>
<div>Deze therapie is ontwikkeld in Australië en wordt daar al ruim 25 jaar toegepast door het Neurophysics Therapy Institute van Ken Ware.
</div>
<div>Vanuit Nederland zijn al meerdere ME/CVS-patiënten naar Australië gegaan en hebben hun gezondheid en leven teruggekregen.
</div>

<div><strong>Mijn droom is om dit traject in Australië te volgen</strong>, bij de <strong>meest ervaren therapeuten</strong> die deze methode zelf hebben ontwikkeld. Omdat ik al zo lang ziek ben, biedt dit de <strong>grootste kans op volledig herstel.</strong>

<div>De therapie bestaat uit 7 fases. Fase 1 en 2 worden in Australië gevolgd. Inclusief vlucht en verblijf kost dit ongeveer € 25.000.

<div>Daarna volgt het vervolgtraject in Nederland (fases 3 t/m 7).
</div>
<div>Het is een flinke investering, maar de kans om mijn energie en leven volledig terug te krijgen, maakt het voor mij alles waard.

<div>NPT richt zich op het <strong>resetten van het zenuwstelsel</strong> en het <strong>herstellen van de ontregeling van het immuunsysteem</strong>, die bij ME/CVS zo’n grote rol speelt. De intensieve behandeling in Australië duurt zes weken, waarna het traject in Nederland een paar jaar wordt voortgezet. Voor mij betekent dit een unieke kans om mijn lichaam na vele jaren disbalans weer goed te laten functioneren en stap voor stap mijn leven terug te krijgen.

<div>My most severe symptom is post-exertional malaise (PEM): getting sick after even the smallest physical, mental, or emotional effort. For me, this means sore throat, migraines, musclepain, sensitivity to light and sound, brain fog, insomnia, feeling cold, and extreme fatigue/exhaustion.
</div>

<div>In recent years, my symptoms were milder. I was able to cautiously travel to the sun, which helped my body recover, and I started building my own practice (coaching for women with PMDD and perimenopause symptoms).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But this year, I have suffered a severe relapse and am again very ill, mostly housebound and bedbound. I get through my days by resting and lying down with an eye mask, waiting for the better days to come. I have support from my partner, household help, and recently I can cook again my own meals :)  
</div>
<div>I shower or wash my hair as little as possible because it makes me feel sick, like I have the flu, and completely exhausts me for the rest of the day.
</div>

<div>Despite countless conventional and alternative treatments over the past 21 years, I have not recovered. But I have learned a lot and held onto hope.
</div>

</div>
<div>There is good news: there is a treatment – Neuro Physics Therapy (NPT) – that has shown very promising results for ME/CFS. This therapy was developed in Australia and has been applied there for over 25 years by the Neurophysics Therapy Institute founded by Ken Ware. Several ME/CFS patients from the Netherlands have traveled to Australia and regained their health and their lives.

<div>My dream is to follow this program in Australia, with the most experienced therapists who developed the method themselves. Because I have been ill for so long, this offers the greatest chance for full recovery.

<div>The therapy consists of 7 phases. Phases 1 and 2 will be completed in Australia, including flights and accommodation, at a cost of approximately €25,000. The continuation of the program (phases 3–7) will then take place in the Netherlands. It is a significant investment, but the chance to regain my energy and life fully makes it worth it for me.

<div>NPT focuses on resetting the nervous system and restoring the immune system dysregulation that plays such a major role in ME/CFS. The intensive treatment in Australia lasts six weeks, followed by the continuation program in the Netherlands. For me, this is a unique opportunity to help my body function properly again after many years and to gradually reclaim my life.
