Help Lily & Ryan Move
Hi, we're Lillian Cohen-Moore and Ryan Macklin! We're madly in love, and we've been a long distance couple for several years. We've finally figured out a way to live in the same place! This is great for our relationship, and becoming domestic partners means we can both have health insurance! It also helps Lily more easily find a job in Seattle by actually living here, rather than living two hours away.
There's one problem, though. We've got a place lined up to rent, and we need to move fast to get it. Unfortunately, a number of unforeseen troubles have evaporated the money we've been saving for the move: problems with previous roommates, massive unexpected auto repairs, medical expenses, and a vet bill from when Ryan's cat was mauled.
We're putting out a hopeful plea to you fine folks to help us out of this jam. We both have incomes (Ryan has a day job), but the money we've earned through freelance work won't arrive for at least a few weeks. We just need short term help past this situation.
We'll use the money to make the deposit & rent on our new home; get ahead on the recent medical & vet bills; and pay off the $850 auto repair bill. If the total donations get over $2500, that money will go toward us living expenses and getting established in our new life together.
We know this is a big request and your help means a lot to us, so we have a plan to pay it forward:
For every donation we get, once we're on our feet (around summer), we'll start donating a regular portion of our income to charities*, including other people in similar binds. And we'll donate at least 25% of what we raise.**
