Help Lilia Breathe

Hello everyone! As you many of you know,  Uvic student (and all around incredible human being) Lilia Zaharieva has recently been cut off from her life- saving drug Orkambi which helps her mitigate the impacts of her advanced case of Cystic Fibrosis. The drug, which has an approximate yearly cost of over 250,000$,  is not currently covered under the provincial Phamarcare plan and we are actively fighting to change that. The drug manufacturer Vertex Pharmaceuticals granted her a three month supplies of Orkambi, however that is by no means a long term solution and time is running out. As of now she currently has just enough medicine to make to just past the holidays and withdrawal from the drug would have devastating, and potentially fatal, impacts. 


The entire experience has been a huge emotional, physical and also financial burden. We are currently raising funds to help with Lilia's daily and medical expenses as she continues her incredible advocacy for people living with Cystic Fibrosis in British Columbia and across Canada. This includes any costs associating with: campaigning, any legal/medical fees, and cost of day to day living. We are hoping to raise enough money to purchase one month of medicine (approximately 20,000$) and to help her with  day to day living costs for that time.
