<div>Hello, I am Lilah Swathwood. I want to share some exciting news and ask for your support as I begin a special journey this fall. Along with my fellow senior classmates at Elkhart Christian Academy, I will be traveling to the Dominican Republic on a mission trip to spread the Word of God.  This trip has been a dream of mine since I first heard about it back in first grade, when I began attending Elkhart Christian Academy. Now, twelve years later, I finally have the incredible opportunity to take part in it.

<div>During our time there, we will be building homes for families in need, volunteering and teaching in local orphanages, and bringing toys and essential supplies to children. As someone who plans to become an elementary school teacher, the chance to work with and care for these children is especially close to my heart. I genuinely believe I have a gift with kids, and nothing brings me more joy than seeing their faces light up and knowing I’ve made a positive difference. Helping others in this way fills my heart and shapes the person I hope to continue becoming.

<div>This trip is not just a senior mission, but a chance to live out my passion for serving others. I’ve decided to raise funds to manage the cost of this trip entirely on my own. Even more importantly, I know how rewarding it will feel to step off that plane and into the village, remembering that I made this happen through my efforts and the generosity of those who chose to support me. I can’t wait for that moment when I’ll think of all the people who helped me get there by donating and encouraging me along the way.

I pray that our ministry will stay with them, and they will utilize all the spiritual disciplines we have instilled in them.
