<div><strong>In the Spring of 2022, Levi was prescribed an antibiotic called Levofloxacin for a regular infection. Unbeknownst to him at the time, this antibiotic has shown to have severe side effects in rare cases. These side effects changed his life in every way. Now we’re looking to raise funds for regenerative therapy, the most promising treatment to improve his life. </strong>

<div>Prior to taking the medication, Levi was teaching at a music school in Budapest, while wrapping up his university studies as a music teacher and playing music regularly at solo concerts and in several bands. He put a lot of emphasis on physical wellbeing: working out in the gym and parks, biking and roller skating daily.

<div>The side effects –called 'Fluoroquinolone Toxicity Syndrome' (FQTS) in scientific literature– caused all of this to change dramatically and instantly, making even the most basic activities challenging. The ongoing shaking of the hands and feet, general muscle weakness, decline in cognitive capabilities, numbing across the body made it difficult for Levi to do his job, and made it impossible for him to enjoy his life as before: to play music, do the same physical activities - or just feel good in general. There have been times when even basic activities like walking required tremendous effort.

<div>In the past 3 years, Levi has consulted with numerous doctors and other medical professionals to and beyond the extent of his and his family’s financial opportunities. He tried all accessible methods that seemed promising: IV therapies, hyperbar oxygen therapy, ozone blood therapy. These were enough for him to be able to continue teaching in the meantime, but little more.

<div>Due to the progressive worsening of his symptoms, continuing his musical projects (including his YT channel, music production and session work) has gotten increasingly difficult –if not impossible– despite all of his efforts.

<div>As Levi lives in Hungary, he had to travel a lot for some of the treatments, which has been very demanding for him, both physically and financially.

</div>
<div><strong>Regenerative medicine, including stem cell therapy and exosome therapy is the most promising targeted treatment option for FQTS. </strong>Unfortunately, it is a very costly option, with a total cost over $30,000, which is well beyond his means. We believe that this is a therapy that can help Levi feel good again - but we also need to act fast for a higher chance of a successful outcome.

Sajnos arról nem tudott, hogy ennek az antibiotikumnak ritka esetekben súlyos maradandó mellékhatásai lehetnek, amik azóta minden tekintetben megkeserítették az életét. Most regeneratív terápiára gyűjtünk pénzt, mivel ez a legígéretesebb kezelés az életminőségének javítására. </strong>

<div>A gyógyszer szedése előtt Levi egy budapesti zeneiskolában tanított, mellette egyetemi tanulmányait végezte, közben zenekarokban zenélt, szóló koncerteken lépett fel. A mozgás nagy szerepet töltött be az életében: heti több alkalommal járt edzőterembe és kondi parkokba, sokat kerékpározott és görkorcsolyázott.

<div>A mellékhatások – melyeket a tudományos szakirodalomban „Fluoroquinolone Toxicity Syndrome” (FQTS) -nak neveznek (Fluorokinolon Mérgezés) drámai és azonnali változást okoztak, megnehezítve még a legalapvetőbb tevékenységeket is. A kéz- és lábremegés, általános izomgyengeség, a kognitív képességek hanyatlása és a test folyamatos zsibbadása, fülzúgás, foltos látás megnehezítette Levi számára a munkáját, és lehetetlenné tette a számára élvezetes dolgokat: a zenélést, sportolást, kirándulást – vagy csak hogy általánosan jól érezze magát. Kezdetekben még az olyan alapvető tevékenységek is, mint a séta, hatalmas erőfeszítést igényeltek.
