Leroy Bruce, my 78-year-old father, has always been a pillar of strength and kindness in his community. As a lifelong mechanic, he’s known for his honesty and willingness to help others, often putting their needs before his own. He’s spent years sharing his wisdom with the younger generation, guiding them to make better choices and always offering a helping hand, even when it meant personal sacrifice. His selfless nature and caring spirit have touched many lives, making him a true testament to what it means to be a loving father and neighbor.

Recently, Leroy’s life was turned upside down by Hurricane Melissa. The storm tore the roof off his home, leaving him exposed and vulnerable. At his age, he struggled to move quickly to safety, and with all power and phone lines down, he was left without help for days. His medication was ruined, and his access to money was cut off. On top of these hardships, Leroy is battling serious health issues—diabetes, an enlarged prostate, and now kidney failure. He urgently needs dialysis and medication, and his home is in desperate need of repairs. Food and clothing are also immediate concerns as he works to recover from the devastation.

Although I am supporting him from afar, and other family members are doing what they can, the distance makes it difficult to provide the help he needs. Despite everything, Leroy remains strong in spirit. When we spoke, I could hear his smile, and I promised him I would do everything possible to help him through this. Your support will go directly toward his medical care, essential medications, home repairs, and basic necessities. Together, we can give Leroy hope and help him rebuild his life after this disaster.
