Help Leo Fight for His Life After Sudden Internal Bleeding
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart for help. My sweet dog Leo has been hospitalized due to a sudden and life-threatening condition. He has almost no blood platelets, which means his body can’t stop bleeding.
It started just three days ago with bleeding gums, and I assumed he needed a dental cleaning. Our usual vet wasn’t available, so we booked with another. I mentioned some red patches on his body, but the vet said it was allergies and gave us allergy pills. Later that night, I gave Leo a bath and that’s when I saw he was covered in bruises from head to tail. The next morning, he was weak and the bruising had worsened. We rushed him to the emergency hospital, where they discovered both internal and external bleeding. His stool has always been black the past 3 days. He’s now being admitted for several nights while they work to stabilize him and figure out the underlying cause but he does have ITP an autoimmune disease they said.
This couldn’t have come at a worse time. Just over a week ago, I lost my grandmother and had to cover many of the costs for her care, funeral, and arrangements. Now, I’m struggling to afford Leo’s emergency hospitalization.
If you know me Leo isn’t just a dog.. he’s my best friend, my emotional support, my child and my heart. Watching him go through this while grieving my grandma is overwhelming.
If you can donate or share, I would be so grateful. Every bit helps. 100% of donations will go toward his hospital stay which is estimated $6,000-$8,000. Also his long term treatments, diagnostics and future relapses that can be thousands.
Thank you so much for your love and support,
Daniela
