<div>I’m not usually one to ask for help, but I’ve reached a point where I have no other options.

<div>As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with a long and painful journey with my foot. It started as a navicular stress fracture in 2019.
</div>

<div>• July 2020 – First surgery → resulted in a nonunion (the bone didn’t heal together). I was still in constant pain, which made nursing — a job that requires being on my feet all day — very difficult.



</div>



<div>• March 2021 – Second surgery → I thought it worked, and I was mostly pain-free for a while. But I later learned the bone had never actually healed.



</div>



<div>• Feb 2025 – An accident at the gym caused the weakened bone to shatter into pieces. I was told the bone had died, and my only option was a fusion.



</div>



<div>• April 2025 – Third surgery (fusion) → unfortunately, it failed. By August, several screws had broken and less than 30% of the fusion had healed.



</div>

<div>This week, I saw a new surgeon — the only one in my area capable of fixing this. He told me the bone will not heal with time and I need a major revision surgery that will fuse additional bones in my foot. The surgery is scheduled for October 22, 2025, and recovery will take a full year.

<div>At this point, I have been unable to work since April. I’ve exhausted FMLA and my job position has been lost. My health insurance will end soon unless I can afford COBRA coverage, which is extremely expensive. Disability payments cover only part of my bills, and my savings from before surgery are gone — I was assured I’d be back to work within 12 weeks, but that wasn’t possible.
