While her successful surgery removed the cancer, her doctors have emphasized that the greatest risk for colon cancer recurrence is within the next 5 years. This is why she's undergoing such frequent CT scans and rigorous surveillance. While the Lynch syndrome diagnosis does inform certain aspects of her care like bi-annual endoscopies, the primary focus of her treatment plan is monitoring for any signs of colon cancer recurrence.
