Help Legend Hear the Music

I would like to proudly introduce you to Legend Ryder Krenk. Born into a musically talented family 2 years ago, Legend is the youngest of 3 brothers. His infectious smile, positive energy, and joyous laughter make it difficult to diagnose his rare condition; bilateral profound hearing loss. His happy disposition and ability to communicate his needs without speech make his inability to hear difficult to detect. Fortunately, his parents began seeking medical testing when they noticed Legend was unresponsive to his name. The diagnosis was emotionally devastating.

After extensive testing and research, there is hope for Legend’s hearing. Unfortunately, his auditory future comes with a high price. He is a candidate for bilateral cochlear implants. Early detection is key. The implants will give Legend the gift of sound and potentially the ability to speak. The doctors have explained the urgency of the surgery, as it is vital to Legends future. He will be beginning at the developmental stage of a newborn in terms of his hearing and speech. His health insurance will help with the actual implant procedure, however this involves traveling from Toledo, OH to Columbus, OH for multiple pre-surgery tests and appointments, surgery, post op appointments, speech pathologists, specialists, loss of income, vehicle maintenance, lodging, sign language coach, the list is endless. Life is difficult enough without financial strain. This diagnosis is very recent, with that being said, we have not spoken publicly about his condition until now and have kept his condition a private conversation, as it is an emotional one. I want to thank those of you that have inquired for ways to help Legend’s parents provide him with the medical procedures that he desperately needs. His surgery is November 15, 2021. With the help of go fund me, we have an opportunity to help Legend hear the music.
