My name is Tanisha Oneal, and I am the founder of Legacy 2.0, a youth dance team that has been serving East Chicago and Hammond families for the past 5 years.

Legacy 2.0 is more than a dance team — we are a family. We’ve supported single parents, encouraged kids through tough times, and created a safe space where young people can shine through dance. We’ve proudly represented our community at local parades, including Chicago’s Bud Billiken Parade, and competed across Indiana and Illinois.

But here’s the challenge: we’ve never had a place to call home. We’ve been practicing in rented spaces, sometimes even being asked to leave, which makes it hard to give our kids the consistency they deserve.

That’s why we’re asking for your help.

We are raising $10,000 to secure our very first Legacy 2.0 Dance Studio — a space where:

    •    Our dancers can practice without fear of losing their spot

    •    We can proudly display our trophies, plaques, and banners

    •    Families can come together for showcases, community events, and celebrations

Every donation will go directly toward making this dream a reality, covering our rent deposit, mirrors, tumbling mats, trophies display, and studio setup costs.
