Help Lee Pay Off Their Top Surgery!

Hello again, friends.

I recently received a bill from the facility where I got top surgery. I was not expecting this, and now know that I owe $3,437.60.

As many of you may know, I'm actually between jobs right now, which adds a lot of pressure to the situation. I plan on calling the number on the statement soon to see if we can figure out a payment plan.

I’m still so grateful for the kindness and generosity I was shown months ago with my original GoFundMe, both with funds and well wishes. I feel so amazing in my new body-more grounded and free at the same time-and I have y’all to thank for that!

There is so much hatred brewing against trans people all around the country-heartless actions being taken that clearly show that many people deem us unworthy of love, respect, or even basic human rights and safety. It angers me and it scares me. I’ve become more diligent in carrying pepper spray when I go for a walk, even in the brightest daylight, just in case someone puts two and two together and doesn’t like what they see.

I often find myself feeling paralyzed by the constant horrible news about my community. I don’t know what to do, but in the end I’m just going to be myself. Trans joy, hope, and body peace is in itself an act of resistance. I’ve worked very hard to know myself better and love myself. I will not hide; I will keep working every day to create my dream life because trans people deserve to thrive.

And again, a huge reason I’m able to do this is because I have friends and family that accept me and cheer me on. I can’t explain how important that is. It absolutely makes ALL the difference, and I love you all so much for it.

Because of the state of things, I feel even more vulnerable with this ask than I did with my first one last December. But since when did that kind of thing stop me? So, it would mean the world to get help with this bill, and as before, there is no amount too small. If you’re unable to give and want to help, sharing would be amazing, too.
