Help Leah Heal

For over 6 years Leah has been chronically ill. For 4 solid years, they saw more doctors than you can count in hopes of finding answers and a diagnosis.

Two years ago she was diagnosed with mold illness, chronic Lyme disease, co-infections, chemical sensitivity, chronic fatigue syndrome, as well as numerous other serious health conditions. Leah's Lyme disease has spread to her brain causing many serious symptoms that need special care.

Leah and Keith have spent years holding their own and giving it everything they have which means all their own money plus accumulated debt looking for answers and solutions. Leah hasn’t been able to move forward and receive any treatments for her disease and urgent health needs because they have run out of every resource. In fact, many families with this illness lose everything and even go bankrupt because there is no possible way to keep up with the cost as everything requires a specialist, very tedious care, and treatment plans.

In the past couple of months, Leah has been losing her ability to get food down and the past few weeks she has only been able to get broth and vegetable juice down. As you can imagine, she has lost a lot of weight and is very concerned. The immediate costs of all the doctor visits and testing combined with the lack of resources brought on by the years of cost have impacted their ability to seek answers.

On top of all of this, doctors have advised Leah and Keith move ASAP and discard ALL of their possessions because of environmental factors. This means clothes, furniture, decor, holiday decorations and everything a home would have. Unlike a fire or flood which would be covered by insurance, Leah and Keith will be starting from zero as mold isn’t covered in the state of Georgia as a renter.

The money raised in this fund will go toward three categories.

1) Tests and treatments Leah needs to bring about healing, and ultimately, save her life. (Roughly $65,000)
2) Care for Leah when she is too sick to care for herself and Keith has to work.
3) Replacements for every household item they lost to mold.

Leah and Keith are some of the most generous, loving, empathetic people I know. I've had the privilege of knowing them for over two decades. Even in the midst of their own suffering and loss, they continue reaching out to comfort and encourage others. They keep showing up and giving like only they can.

For them to share their needs publicly is an act of bravery. But it's also an act of generosity because now we get the opportunity to love on them and give back in a tangible way. We get to be the hands and feet of Jesus just as they have been to so many people.
