As a collective we are struggling to hold meetings and in general to do our much needed work. Proper tech tools would do a long way in helping us expand and improve upon our services.
We all know that the pandemic has disproportionately effected poor and homeless people. Most services and resources have gone online, as have things like board meetings and other important meetings.
Many of our members do not have access to internet at home and access at libraries is now increasingly limited with higher demand. In order for our members to access services and resources as well as participate in our organization and have a say through things like board meetings; they need access to computers and internet.
Students are also needing to spend more and more time online but not every student has the required access to internet workspace and computers or laptops.
We are planning to offer internet stations in our space as soon as we can as we understand this as a major accessibility and class issue. As an anti-capitalist organization focused on accessibility, this is a major issue for us. We hope you agree and will support us in addressing this.
