Aloha!
My name is Ivana Gabela Etimani and I am starting this page on behalf of my incredible friend Layne Fitzpatrick, with the support of his amazing wife Emilia and loving son Ziggy. Unfortunately, our dear Mr. Aloha has been diagnosed with Leukemia ❤️ The diagnosis is Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He is undergoing multiple test at the moment, including a bone marrow biopsy, and the doctors have decided to keep Layne in the hospital for at least a month to proceed with chemotherapy and all other necessary treatments.
The future is unknown for Layne at the moment and the doctors don’t know how long he is going to need to be in treatment. Unfortunately, Layne’s paycheck has stopped coming in at the worst time and he will no longer be receiving one due to being absent from work.
Layne is a highly decorated military veteran and has been rewarded with The Soldier’s Medal. He has also been an AccesSurf Volunteer for many years, as well as a close collaborator with the Wounded Warrior Project.
Layne and his wife Emilia have decided that any funds that are left over, after all of Layne’s needs are taken care of, will be donated to further research cancer treatments.
Layne has dedicated his life to service and his family. As an Ocean Rescue Lifeguard he has helped care for and save many people in his career - now it’s time for us to save him! ❤️ Thank you!
***A message from our beloved Layne’s beautiful wife Emilia from November 13th: “I wanted to let everyone know that we are flying out to Houston tonight for Laynes's appointments at MD Anderson. We won't know how long we will be in the mainland, I do know once Layne starts treatment we will be there for at least 3 months, depending on how Laynes body reacts to treatment. Mahalo to everyone who has been reaching out and sending prayers, love and donations, you guys are the best❣ please continue to pray for us, we still have a long road ahead“
