Get Layna certified in Forest Therapy for her 25th

Thank you for checking out my fundraiser! My name is Layna. I am a recent Honours' graduate of Humber College's Child and Youth Care Degree program. 

As a recognized CYC, I am very passionate about mental health, poverty, children and youth rights and the intersectional realities between these topics. The combination of being raised in Northern Ontario alongside the work and extracurricular outdoors experience I have gained in Toronto as a student have influenced me to pursue utilizing outdoor environments for therapeutic use with adults and youth alike. I am really passionate and confident in my capacity to engage communities in building relations to their outdoor counterparts with the intentions for building resilience and self-care strategies, as well as evoking stewards of the environment.

When researching how I can become certified to use nature in therapeutic practice, I found the Global Institute of Forest Therapy, where they will be offering a certification course this coming May for just over $4000.

I hope to cover half of the expenses myself for this professional development and hope to ask my community of friends and family to donate between
$2-5......because I'm turning 25.... ;)
