At 43, Layla should be living a life filled with dignity, peace, and stability. But for Layla, a transgender woman from Morocco, each day is a fight to survive.
After years of struggling to find acceptance and safety in her community, Layla was recently fired from her job simply because of her gender identity. Overnight, she found herself without an income, without shelter, and without the basic security so many of us take for granted.
Layla’s story is one of quiet resilience. She once worked as a caregiver for the elderly—offering kindness and comfort to others even as she was denied it herself. She saved what little she could, dreaming of a small apartment, maybe a cat, and finally being able to live authentically. But the world hasn’t been kind.
When she was forced to sleep on the streets, Layla endured violence, harassment, and unbearable cold. Despite everything, she still smiles and says, “I believe there is still kindness in this world.”
Now, Layla urgently needs our help.
She is in desperate need of:
• A safe and stable place to live
• Nutritious meals and basic necessities
• Medical care for chronic health issues
• Psychological support to heal from years of trauma
We are raising €5000 to cover Layla’s immediate needs and help her start again with dignity. Your support—no matter how small—can be the turning point in her life.
