About a year ago, my family and I met a spirited little cat who won our hearts that very first night with her affection. We eventually welcomed her into our home and named her Layla. She shows affection in her own special way — she’s not the clingy type, but will always curl up at our feet and has recently started coming closer for cuddles. Layla loves to play and then nap, especially in the sun. She truly lights up our home.

Today Layla came back limping and bleeding, so we rushed her to the emergency clinic right away. After x-rays and exams, the ER vet confirmed she has a fracture and needs specialty orthopedic surgery. The surgical clinics are closed until Monday, so we’re waiting to get her scheduled as soon as they open.

Watching Layla in pain has been heartbreaking. I want to give her every chance to heal and enjoy her precious life, but I can’t afford the surgery on my own. The ER visit today cost about $1,200, and the orthopedic surgery is estimated at around $9,000. I’m trying to avoid going into crushing debt, so I’m turning to this community for help.

Every dollar will go directly to Layla’s medical care: the surgery, anesthesia, hospital stay, follow-up visits, medications, and any needed rehabilitation. If there are extra funds, they will be used for her continued recovery and routine care so she can get back to playtime and cozy naps.
