Help Lay My Loving Mother to Rest

On August 15, 2025, my mother suffered a terrible fall, hit her head, and went into cardiac arrest. She has been on a ventilator for almost six months now, and her condition has only gotten worse. The nursing home she’s in hasn’t been able to care for her properly—she’s developed severe bedsores and has become malnourished. The doctors have told me she will never wake up from this, as she has an anoxic brain injury. She’s only 67 years old. As a single parent of two, I simply don’t have the means to give her the funeral and cremation she deserves. I haven’t been able to take her off the ventilator because I know that would mean she would pass, and I just can’t do that without knowing I can put her to rest with dignity. I love my mother more than words can say, and this has been the hardest thing I’ve ever faced. My mother was an incredible woman—funny, caring, and always willing to help anyone in need. She loved her children and absolutely adored her grandkids, spoiling us all with her love and attention. She was the kind of person you could always talk to, and she’d listen and give her honest opinion, no matter what. She truly loved life, and it breaks my heart that she didn’t get to live longer. I’m reaching out for help because I can’t do this alone. Any support you can give will help me honor my mother’s memory and give her the respectful farewell she deserves. Thank you for reading our story and for any help you can offer during this incredibly difficult time.
