HELP LAVONNIA GET HER TRUCK OUT

Donation protected
I am raising money on behalf of my mother, who I experienced this tragic ordeal with:

"On January 2nd, 2019, my son and I were on our way back home to the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. We were coming back from New Mexico, and our truck was nearing empty, so we stopped at a gas station to fill up the gas tank. I put in gas thinking nothing of it. However, a few miles down the road, my truck began to shut down and completely die, leaving us stranded and cold for hours, amidst a severe blizzard storm. Until we called around to other tow truck companies, and one came to our aid, and towed it to a local Ford dealership. As it had turned out, I put bad gas into my truck unknowingly, as did some 30+ other people that day.

I have gone to two local Ford repair shops in Arizona to have my truck fixed, but to no avail, neither of them could fix it. With one repair shop going as far as taking apart my truck and ruining it even more. Eventually, I found someone to tow my truck back to the New Mexico Ford dealership where I bought it, and fortunately, they repaired my truck. However, they have told me that since the truck was ruined from the bad gas and the other repair shop’s damages, meaning more parts had to be replaced. The bill totaled to $10,000, in which they gave me until September to take out the truck.

Now, my family and I do not have that kind of money to take out the truck before then, as we are living on ends meet every day. We are currently living on my husband’s fixed Social Security income, which goes straight to utility bills, payment to people (to help us haul our wood, water, and hay, etc.) and groceries, leaving very little for us to get by for the rest of the month. I was hoping to get a job by this month in order to help reduce the bill. Unfortunately, with this ongoing pandemic, my interviews have been cancelled, leaving us helpless and at a dead-end.

We live in the middle of nowhere, on the Navajo Reservation, located in Northern Arizona, near the Arizona-Utah border. Our truck is very critical in aiding us for where we live, as it helps us haul wood to prepare for the harsh winters, in which the snow can get as high as 3-5 feet and temperatures as low as 13 degrees, and it helps us haul hay and water for our sheep, which is a way of life for us Navajos. While also helping us transport my husband, who recently had a stroke and is severely diabetic, and my son, who has heart problems, to their appointments in Flagstaff, Arizona, which is 100+ miles just one way.

Currently, we are driving a 2004 Toyota Prius, which was lended to us by a family friend, however, because it is a small car, it is only used as a mode of transportation, meaning we can’t use it to haul anything large, except a small load of groceries.

I am asking you all to help me get my truck out before September. I need my truck back before the harsh winter sets in. Any amount of donations is greatly appreciated, whether it may be $1 or even helping spread the word. We are in this together. Your donations give me hope and strength to move and carry on. Thank You and God Bless."
