<div>Laurie was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. The cancer has metastasized to her liver and neighbouring lymph nodes. The liver is currently inoperable.
</div>

<div>Laurie has suffered with horrible symptoms for over a year. Due to her age, doctors assumed almost everything except colon cancer. Laurie is only 26 years old; It is extremely rare for someone her age to have colorectal cancer. On 01/09/2022 Laurie went to the emergency room as she was suffering excruciating pains in the upper abdomen. After an ultrasound and CT scan, the doctors determined it was likely cancer. On 01/24/2022 she was officially diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer by oncologist Dr. Sasha.

<div>Laurie is currently being treated at Lions Gate Hospital by Dr. Sasha. Their current strategy is to use general chemo to reduce the size and severity of the tumours on her liver so they can operate.

<div>Laurie is unable to work while undergoing treatment and her living expenses and supportive therapy and care are very costly. The goal of $50,000 CAD is to help cover her expenses and support her treatment.
