Help Laurene Get Care

Two years ago, my mother, Laurene Merritt was diagnosed with a rare progressive neurological disorder called Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD) at only 54 years old. In the beginning, mom had problems with speech, tremor, movement, and fine motor skills. It was difficult however she was still able to do many things on her own and could get by in her home with assistance. Unfortunately, moms condition has deteriorated quickly in the past year. We brought in some home care but could only really get a few hours because it was all we could afford. Now, mom is at the point where she needs 24/7 hands on care in a nursing facility. She needs full assistance for feeding, changing, etc. and has no real ability to speak. This disease has been devastating and I really want to get her the care she needs. Unfortunately, waiting lists for nursing homes can go on for several years and it would be impossible for mom to wait that long. If I can raise enough funds, she will be able to go into a nursing care facility asap. This is imperative as latley it seems as though she is getting worse everyday.
