Meet Laurence!
First and foremost we wanted to thank you so much for following our journey. On September 1st 2021, we received the results from the genetic testing. The results confirmed that Laurence has Rett sydrome.
Rett syndrome is a rare genetic neurological and developmental disorder. This syndrome affects 1 in 10 000 girls and has taken Lolo's ability to speak and walk. Imagine the symptoms of autism, cerebral palsy, Parkinson's, epilepsy and anxiety disorder … all in one little child. That's what Rett syndrome is.
We wanted to say thank you for all the donations. Your donations have contributed to help Laurence receive the therapy she needs and will continue to do so (ie., occupational therapy and speech therapy). Laurence's therapy bills add up very quickly. We've already spent over 20K in therapy. Also, almost everything will need to be specialized and customized (ie., bicycle, high chair, stroller, car seat).
