Help Lauren Save Charlie – Her Beloved Puppy

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister, Lauren Doten, who is facing an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking situation with her beloved puppy, Charlie. Since bringing Charlie and her brother, Gus, home from the breeder, Charlie has been struggling with serious medical issues, and Lauren has been doing everything in her power to keep her healthy and alive.

Lauren is one of the most hardworking and dedicated people I know—working third shift and overtime just to cover Charlie’s overwhelming medical expenses. She would never ask for help herself, only for prayers, but the financial burden is immense.

Lauren’s dogs are her children. She takes them everywhere and cares for them with the love and devotion of a mother. If you know Lauren, you know she has already endured unimaginable loss. Last year, she suffered a devastating tragedy when her first puppy, Homer, was attacked by another dog. Despite Lauren’s desperate attempt to intervene, she was forced to watch helplessly as her sweet Homer was taken from her in the most traumatic way. She was injured in the process but, as always, found the strength to keep going.

In the midst of her grief, Charlie and Gus came into her life, bringing a new sense of healing and purpose. Now, Charlie is fighting for her health, and Lauren refuses to give up on her—just as she never gave up on Homer.

I wish I could take this burden off her shoulders completely, but I can’t do it alone. That’s why I’m asking for the support of friends, family, and the community.
