Help Laura LaPorte Get Life-Saving Treatment

My name is Kathleen, and I am on a journey to help raise funds to support Laura LaPorte's growing medical expenses. Laura LaPorte has been an amazing pillar of our community for 30 plus years. She has the biggest and most giving heart of anyone I have ever met, and all those that know her would agree. For those of you that don't know her history, she was in a terrible car accident back in October of 1999, which caused significant damage to her legs, resulting in multiple surgeries. Then, back in 2018, she became septic and was in the hospital on a vent for 51 days with a long recovery road. In 2015, she suffered a major stroke resulting in her losing motor function and becoming a complete quadriplegic. She also suffers from muscular dystrophy, which has severely gotten worse and is causing life-threatening problems today. Due to her muscular dystrophy, the muscles in her lungs are not strong enough to expand her lungs the way they are supposed to, which causes her to build up critical levels of CO2. Yesterday, she was told by her doctors that due to the levels of CO2 in her body, her life span is limited. They have told her she needs a trach and a feeding tube, which her insurance company is fighting her on. She was turned away yesterday by one doctor due to insurance complications and lack of money. This amazing lady has given her blood, sweat, and tears to everyone in this community. It's time for our community to help give back to her. Please help us so we can ensure she gets the proper care she needs.
