<div>Hey Everyone, my name is Michael. My dad Jake was diagnosed with Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer about a month and a half ago. Yesterday, he was put on hospice! This has all happened so very quickly. My mom, who is Laura C., has been doing her best to balance her job and take Jake to his doctor's appointments and hospital visits.

<div>Unfortunately, my stepdad hasn’t been healthy enough to start chemo treatment or radiation. He’s lost 35 pounds from not being able to eat because of a mass at the end of his esophagus. He’s needed three blood transfusions already. He went in to start chemo treatment 3 days ago, but unfortunately was not able to. He was taken to the E.R. and needed another blood transfusion. My mom was told yesterday that his body is too weak and that getting chemo now will unfortunately kill him. They had no choice but to put my stepdad on hospice care.

<div>He's extremely sick and unfortunately does not have much time left. <strong>I’m starting this GoFundMe to help my mom with all care costs, bills, hospital stays, and unfortunately end-of-life care.</strong> We are also raising money for funeral arrangements and expenses. <strong>I want my mom to be able to spend every single second with my stepdad.</strong> This is to help take the burden off her and to help her with funeral/memorial services.
