I escaped with my son, but not before enduring a level of heartbreak I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I’ve lived through sleeping in my car with a newborn. I’ve felt the terror of being hunted down by someone who swore they loved me. I’ve stared death in the face more times than I can count—and I’ve survived them all.
