Help Us Launch & Sustain The Lighthouse!
We’re thrilled to announce the upcoming soft opening of The Lighthouse! The Lighthouse exists to support youth-driven community development in the Virginia Street community located in the heart of Farmville, Virginia. All programs are offered free of charge to youth on Virginia Street and it's surrounding communities. But to ensure the success in its first few months, we need your help!
Our Goal: $2,500 for the First 3 Months of Operation. SO FAR WE HAVE RAISED $1233 in cash! We can drop out goal from $2500 to $1267.
With your support, we’ll be able to cover the essential costs of running The Lighthouse for the first three months. Your donation will directly fund:
- Staffing Coordination: Ensuring we have qualified mentors and facilitators for workshops and youth-led initiatives.
- Facility Maintenance and Utilities: Keeping the space open, clean, and welcoming to all young people.
- Community Engagement and Outreach: Initially, we will offer these programs one day a week.
- Teen Talk: A safe, open forum for teenagers to discuss issues that matter to them and explore creative ways to bring about change in their community and school.
- Maker's Space: A creative, hands-on environment where youth can explore arts, crafts, and technology, cultivating innovation and problem-solving skills.
- Community Music: A collaborative music program that brings together local youth to learn, perform, and express themselves through music.
- Youth-Led Programs: Empowering young people to take leadership roles in planning and executing their own initiatives, fostering responsibility, teamwork, and confidence.
