CAMBIAR: A Movement for Inclusive Workplaces and Neurodivergent Talent

As the end of 2024 wound down, I found myself at an unexpected crossroads. In October, after several rounds of layoffs at my nonprofit, I was let go. As a Talent Acquisition and HR leader, it was a heartbreaking change—one that forced me to decide what came next.

But after a lot of reflection (and, let’s be honest, some tears and tough conversations), I realized something powerful: this setback wasn’t the end of my story. It was the perfect moment for my comeback.

And that comeback has a name: CAMBIAR.

CAMBIAR means "to change" in Spanish, and change has been the one constant in my life. It’s shaped how I lead, how I grow, and how I keep moving forward—even when the path feels uncertain. CAMBIAR isn’t just a business I’m launching; it’s my heart’s work. It’s about reimagining how professionals and organizations approach growth, transforming the way career opportunities are built and accessed in an ever-evolving world.

Why CAMBIAR Matters—Now More Than Ever

As an HR and Talent Acquisition leader, I’ve spent my career helping people navigate the job market. And right now, that market is tougher than ever.

I’ve seen firsthand how traditional hiring systems overlook incredible talent simply because someone doesn’t “fit the mold.” Neurodivergent professionals, in particular, face unnecessary barriers despite their immense potential to drive innovation and resilience.

That’s where CAMBIAR comes in. It’s about more than just landing the next job—it’s about reshaping the systems that determine who gets access to opportunity and how success is defined.

Centering Neurodivergent Talent

What truly sets CAMBIAR apart is its focus on neurodivergent professionals—the leaders of our future—who deserve systems designed to support the way they think, learn, and create.

"Neurodivergent" simply means a brain that works differently—not better, not worse, just different. Studies show that 15-20% of the global population is neurodivergent—what I like to call Neurospicy! That’s 1 in 5 people with unique ways of processing the world, whether through autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or other neurodevelopmental variations.

My own brain doesn’t always follow the path society expects, but that doesn’t make it any less valuable. In fact, it’s the different direction that holds the key to innovation, resilience, and success.
