Today, I am devastated to share my best friend Larissa’s story. She has faced unimaginable challenges over the last year, and my heart breaks for her every day. It all began with an accidental fentanyl overdose—Larissa was completely unaware the drug was present, making her a victim of circumstances beyond her control. The overdose alone caused severe brain damage, and the seizures that followed, along with the coma doctors induced to protect her, created a perfect storm—making her recovery even more difficult and uncertain. After months of rehabilitation, Larissa worked hard to regain her ability to talk and move, but she was left with short-term memory loss, balance issues, and movement difficulties. We hoped that would be the worst of it, but sadly, her journey took another turn. 
 
 
 A year after the accident, Larissa was hospitalized again and diagnosed with Parkinsonism. This condition means the cells in her brain that control movement are dying, and she has now lost the ability to speak, walk, and eat. She recently started using a feeding tube, and it breaks my heart to see her go through so much pain and loss. I feel powerless, but I am determined to do everything I can to help her. 
 
 
 We are raising funds to help provide specialized medical care and therapies, long-term care support, equipment and resources to improve her comfort and quality of life, and any additional treatments that may offer hope for recovery. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping Larissa receive the care she truly needs during this incredibly difficult time.
