Howzit my name is Landon Yamane. I’m a Junior at Baldwin High School and I suffer from a very, very rare brain tumor. My tumor caused me to have a seizure, and that’s how I initially discovered my condition. My MRI scan showed I had a mass about the size of a golf ball at the top of my brain. I was sent to a specialist on Oahu to determine the severity of my condition. This is when I was informed I would undergo brain surgery to remove the tumor. Two weeks later, my mom, dad, and I flew to Kapiolani Hospital where Dr. Bolis performed my surgery and successfully removed the tumor. My tumor was sent to pathology, which confirmed it is non-cancerous, but because this is such a rare tumor, it was sent to another lab for further testing. Though I had a successful surgery, it has left our family with great medical expenses, which will continue as I go back for further testing and follow-ups for my condition. Please help fund me and my medical expenses on my journey to recovery.
