Help Lamont Daigle - Fight The Fines

The Line Canada has been hosting peaceful protest Canada wide from the onset of the COVID-19 restrictions which have been accompanied by the unlawful lockdowns.

The Line's aim has been to end the harmful restrictions and the lockdown that have had crippling effects on businesses, jobs, and the people of Canada as a whole.

Another primary aim is to ensure the sustainability of our civil liberties as well as our charter of rights and freedoms.

Despite the unlawful "Stay At Home" orders, and numerous threats of fines and arrests by government officials, The Line Canada continued to host peaceful protests as protected under the Canadian charter of rights and freedoms.

Lamont Daigle, President and Co-Founder of The Line Canada, took on the role and responsibility as the lead Organizer of the protests. This responsibility however comes with severe consequences that are unfortunately an integral part of our struggle.

On Saturday November 14, 2020, The Line hosted and organized a protest in the town of St. Thomas, Ontario. Prior to our attendance in St Thomas, we were notified by both the St. Thomas police service and the city of St. Thomas that the protest would "not be welcomed", and that, we would be facing fines under the "Reopening Ontario Act". The Line was also advised to "cease and desist" with our attempts to move forward with the "event".

The correspondence from the St. Thomas Police service indicated that "as an identified organizer", The Line would be liable to a fine up to $10,000.00 dollars under the act, and that a permit would be required to host the event"

Lamont Daigle was also notified by the Toronto Police services that if he should continue hosting and organizing protest every Saturday at Yonge & Dundas Square Toronto, he may be arrested or fined under the Reopen Ontario Act.

Lamont Daigle understood the warnings, however continued with his mission to raise awareness and organize the protests.

On the 2nd of December, 2020, Lamont Daigle received his fine for organizing the St. Thomas protest.

Subsequently, Lamont Daigle received a fine under the Reopen Ontario Act every following Saturday for hosting and organizing the Dundas Square protest.

Lamont Daigle has accumulated a total of 6 fines/charges under the Reopen Ontario Act that can carry up to $2.5 Million in fines and/or 1 year in jail for each offense.

On the 16th of January, 2021, while simply setting up to conduct a peaceful protest to end the lockdown,  Lamont Daigle was arrested and charged criminally by the Toronto Police Service for Common Nuisance and Endangering Public Health.

The following link is a video of the event:

It is important that we fight these fines properly to ensure our success. The outcome of the court proceedings will set a precedent.  These laws are unconstitutional and it is our aim and part of all our struggle to ensure that our rights are preserved.

Should Lamont be found guilty of exercising his rights, a judge would have agreed to set a president that provincial offenses do in fact supersede all Canadian charter of rights and freedoms.  Never in the history of Canada has a provincial offense superseded the charter of rights and freedoms.

Lamont needs your support.

The Line Legal Team has acquired the services of Mr. Antoine D'Ailly of AJD Law.

A retainer of $10,000 is required to begin the process. We thank you all for your help and assistance.
