Help Lalita Get Better
Hi, I am Pradipta Chatterjee(Pandit Srivas Das) from the USA and I am hoping to raise some funding for dear friends of mine Tomas (Tirthakara) and Kristina (Kunti) Klemenc in support for the therapies of their daughter Lalita.
Lalita’s story:
Lalita is 3.5 years old. She is smart and bright, even though she can’t do all the things that children her age can do. She is truly a special little girl, full of life and always positive. Some of the things she enjoys are being in nature, music, dancing, and being around family and friends. She is very social, likes to laugh, and has a very strong personality. Lalita is our only child.
Lalita was diagnosed with trisomy 21, a genetic condition caused by an extra chromosome, also known as Down syndrome. There is no cure for this condition but physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapy can help with some symptoms. Lalita is facing physical growth delays, low muscle tonus, vision problems, and cognitive development delays including delayed speech. It has been truly the most difficult thing that we have ever had to deal with, and at the center of it is our daughter Lalita who is starting to show development delays. As she grows, without intervention, her condition can get worse. But in this situation, we found a bit of hope.
After many consultations with pediatricians and other specialists, the conclusion was that Lalita’s condition can improve significantly if she will be provided with certain types of therapies, which showed in last year's clinical trials with promising results. We are cautiously hopeful that Lalita may be a candidate for these therapies and give her a chance for a better life.
One of them is the Therasuit method intensive program (TMIP). It is an intensive individualized Neuro Functional Strengthening therapy program that accelerates functional progress. It is an innovative approach to treatment for those with neurological disorders and it’s based and validated by research and science from epigenetics, neurology, and exercise physiology.
The other one is Masgutova Neuro-sensory-motor Reflex Integration (MNRI) Program. This non-invasive technique systematically activates and integrates the sensory input to the central nervous system and re-patterns the motor response from the brain. The MNRI is a highly effective brainstem re-patterning program that helps the brain to organize around the basis (Primitive Reflexes) for regulation and learning.
We are also communicating with a clinic in Switzerland about stem cell therapy. While stem cell therapy does not necessarily provide a cure for her condition, the premise is to allow the body to heal itself well enough to mitigate the symptoms of the condition for long periods. In many cases, this effect can substantially increase the quality of life and this therapy is completely painless. In this clinic, more than 300 patients, with trisomy 21, have been treated with stem cell therapy (age from 8 months to 8 years). Most of the patients showed different levels of improvements in intellectual development, gait, speech, and muscle strength, and reaction velocity.
As you may know, all those therapies are not covered by medical insurance, and they are very costly, so we are urgently reaching out to friends and the world to help Lalita get the treatment she needs. Your donation can help fund Lalita’s therapies. We want and feel responsible to give Lalita everything she needs to live the best quality life possible.
