Hello!
My name is Laila. I am 18 years old, and
a first year student at Southeastern University.
I am currently studying veterinary medicine as
I just love all things animals. I am also on the
cheerleading team where you can find me on the
sidelines at SEU football and basketball games.
In my opinion, the best thing about SEU is the
heart. I am surrounded by a community who
strive to love like Jesus. Kindness radiates not
just within the campus but into the
surrounding community and all around the
world as students actively seek to be the hands
and the feet of Jesus in all they do.
Here at SEU, we are blessed to be apart of SEU Missions.
SEU Missions exists to see the next generation of students rise up and take their place in the Kingdom of God. The opportunities are endless as students are able to travel locally and internationally.
I have been incredibly blessed to travel to Johannesburg, South Africa during February 27-March 9th. We will educate the underprivileged, orphaned and at risk children, with quality, caring Christian education. Every day, 3 infants are abandoned on the streets of Johannesburg. We will physically and spiritually rescue the abandoned and forgotten babies. Additionally, we will be spreading recourse awareness to pregnant women in crisis.
There is so much hurt in South Africa. 25 percent of children aged 5-16 experienced family violence, 18 percent experienced physical abuse, 13 percent experienced emotional abuse and 12 percent experienced neglect. pregnant women in South Africa face significant challenges including limited access to quality prenatal care, high rates of HIV infection, and malnutrition.
South Africa needs more love than ever right now.
With a humble heart, I ask for prayer for me and my team seeking safety, wisdom, and provision.
Before I depart from this mission, I need to raise $3,300. Half of it is due February 1st; the remaining March 1st. If you feel called to donate, your support will not only enable me to go, but would also be an investment in the suffering lives of the people in South Africa. I believe that with the Lord’s provision, I will be able to accomplish this goal so that I can ultimately reach the hurt in South Africa.
