Every parent expects for their children to have healthy and happy childhood experiences . We were no different, but a few weeks ago, our lives were forever changed by some devastating news. Our baby boy Ky'Ron Harris known to family and friends as Bug was recently diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, also known as Hodgkin’s Disease. Hodgkin's Disease is rather rare, with less than 200,000 cases in the United States each year. It is actually a form of cancer that starts in the white blood cells that are located in the lymphatic system. When this type of cancer progresses, it severely limits the body’s ability to fight off infections. Bug is the typical 9 year old. He is in the 4th grade. His birthday is November 20. He has 5 siblings, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. His favorite color is blue. His favorite toy is a football. His favorite food is nachos. We are doing what we can as a family to stay strong and to bring him peace and a sense of normalcy as he fights a very serious and scary disease . Bug started chemo on Friday and he had to do 5 days straight for the first 2 rounds. He starts going every Friday. He will have another scan at the beginning of November to see how the chemo is working. After that he starts his other 2 rounds. Our prayer is by mid January , the lymphoma is completely gone and our little trooper can enjoy his favorite things again . He is a tough little boy who is keeping us positive through this time.

We are asking for help to support us through his medication, home schooling for when he can't attend school and other expenses. Since we both work, one of us will have to stay home to help care for Bug after each treatment . We are grateful for any monetary donations, prayers and words of encouragement during this time.
