On July 4th of this year at about 3pm, my cousin Kristina was attacked and critically stabbed four times by a woman who was a complete stranger to Kristina and her fiancé Bryan.

They initially had a friendly encounter with the woman at their neighborhood bar, the B’Dale club in Roseville. The woman, Rosetta Williams, told them it was her birthday, so they bought her a cocktail and had a brief conversation with her.

Moments later, as Kristina and Bryan walked away to join Kristina’s best friend Erica, the woman grabbed Kristina’s arm and told her ‘I’m not done with you yet’. Words were exchanged, and Kristina, Bryan and Erica left the bar. As the woman was being escorted out by B-Dale staff, more words were exchanged. They got close enough together when Kristina kicked the woman away. At that point, Rosetta got up, and Kristina, Bryan and Erica thought the woman was throwing punches, but in fact she had a 10” knife and stabbed Kristina four times. Erica called 911, and had fortunately got a photo of the woman’s license plate.

The police found the car, knife, and woman and quickly took her into custody. She has been charged with 1st degree Aggravated Assault Causing Great Bodily Harm. She posted her bail and has been released. The court case is proceeding in Ramsey County, and she did appear for her first hearing.

Meanwhile, Kristina was rushed by ambulance to Regions hospital where they heroically and thankfully saved her life. Her injuries were extensive with the most severe being punctures to her stomach, pancreas, spleen and small intestine. She spent 9 days in the hospital, 5 of which were in ICU and she has undergone multiple surgeries. She had another hospital stay when an infection was discovered. Although she continues to heal, she has a long road ahead.

Kristina is healing and after 8 weeks she is back to work, but not quite fulltime. Kristina and Bryan are facing not only difficult financial obligations, but as you can imagine, also great life changing stresses.
