For the past 14 years, I’ve been living with extreme pain caused by a lax SI joint. I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, hypermobile type, which has caused my SI joint to stretch and become unstable. Until recently, I managed the pain with steroid injections, but over the last year, those treatments have stopped working. Now, my mobility is so limited that even day-to-day activities have become a struggle. My doctor has recommended SI joint fusion surgery, and I’m scheduled for the procedure on October 10th.
The costs are already adding up. I’m facing medical bills, expenses for equipment that insurance won’t cover, medications, and lost wages while I recover. My mom, sister, and great aunt have been my support system, helping me through the toughest days and encouraging me to keep going. Their help means the world, but the financial burden is more than we can handle alone.
With your support, I’ll be able to get the surgery I need and focus on healing. My biggest hope is to return to work without pain, attend meetings regularly, and get back to SMPW. Every contribution will help me move forward and reclaim the life I’ve been missing.
