<div>My sister Kristen and her husband Salvador live in a modest home in Fletcher, North Carolina ( 12 miles from Ashville). They prepared for Hurricane Helene by stocking up on food and water for themselves, their dog, cat and bird. However, what unfolded was beyond their worst nightmares - 4 feet of water wreaked havoc on their home, in-home small business, and all of their personal belongings. As the flood waters subsided, all that was salvageable was a photo of Kristen's deceased mother and her final art project, shown in the photo above.

<div>Despite the overwhelming devastation, they found comfort in the fact that they and their animals had made it through the storm unscathed.

<div>Amid the chaos and destruction, Kristen and Salvador, who have always been there to lend a helping hand to others, find themselves in a position of need. With heavy hearts, they are now reaching out for assistance to rebuild their lives and restore their home.
