I have started this campaign to raise funds for my mother, Kozeta Çika, who is suffering from non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
After a battery of medical tests and no answers in Tirana, Albania, the doctors suggested that a diagnosis and further treatment should be sought abroad due to the poor Albanian health care system. The nearest hospital where our family could receive proper answers was Ioannina University Hospital in Ioannina, Greece. The doctors there concluded that my mother suffers from non-Hodgkin lymphoma – a white cell cancer that ravages the body. The only cure for this kind of cancer is chemotherapy which she can only receive in Ionnina. Unfortunately, the treatment is long-term, very expensive, and our entire life savings are woefully insufficient in the face of this disease.
