Hi friends,
Koda is my 3-year-old male cat and the sweetest little companion. Unfortunately, like many male cats, he has been struggling with frequent urinary tract infections (UTIs) and dangerous blockages.
Since yesterday, Koda showed signs of another blockage. I rushed him to the vet on Friday, but at that time he wasn’t fully blocked and was sent home with medication. Overnight, his condition worsened—he began bleeding and this morning we learned he was completely blocked. His bloodwork showed that toxins were quickly building up in his kidneys, which can be fatal within 24 hours.
He was rushed to the emergency vet where I was given an estimate of almost $9,000 for immediate surgery. After a lot of tears and discussions between my regular vet and the ER team, we agreed to place a catheter and keep him stable while we plan Perineal Urethrostomy (PU) surgery as an elective procedure. This surgery will help prevent future blockages and save his life.
The cost for the catheter, hospitalization, and surgery is expected to be around $3,500.
Every single dollar will go directly toward Koda’s care—his surgery, recovery, and medications.
Koda is the sweetest boy. He loves cuddles, head bumps, and being by my side every day. Please, if you can help with a donation of any size or by sharing this page, it would mean the world to me. Your support will give him the chance to keep purring and living a happy life.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️
