Corra Technology Inc is an e-commerce company based out of New York, US with offices in NJ, LA, India and UK. Our employees in India office were recently impacted by heavy rains and flooding in Southern India. We, the US office employees, are raising funds to help our employees in India to recover the damages caused by heavy flooding.
As most of you are aware, heavy rains have caused severe flooding across Kerala. North and central Kerala has been worst hit by the floods. The death toll is reported at 87. (As of August 16, 2018).
One of our own employee’s house is completely submerged and he is trapped with his family. While there are others who have lost lot of their belongings and are forced to move out of their homes. We have set up a Gofundme page to help our employees impacted.
Once all the funds have been received from the employees, Corra will match the total contributions of our employees and guarantee a minimum contribution from Corra of $5,000 to help our employees and their families recover from the damage and get back up on their feet. All the funds received in US bank will be then wired to our official bank in India so the funds can be distributed to impacted families.
Most of the help is going to be for rebuilding their house and lost personal amenities. We have to understand which employee is impacted and by how much and distribute the funds accordingly. Many of our employees have moved into nearby camp sites and hotels, that are on higher grounds, we are going to use the funds to pay for their hotel bills and transportation. Lot of areas have no safe drinking water , we are buying gallons of water and sending them to the affected areas for our employees.
