<div>Ik start deze actie voor mijn kleinste nichtje <strong>Jackie</strong> en haar ouders. Dit mooie lieve meisje van bijna 3 jaar oud is de jongste van de vier geweldige kinderen van mijn zusje Danja en haar man Ben.

<div>Kort na de geboorte van Jackie merkten haar ouders dat haar ontwikkeling anders verliep. Na verschillende onderzoeken kregen ze het verdrietige nieuws: <strong>Jackie</strong> <strong>heeft</strong> <strong>het</strong> <strong>RETT</strong> <strong>syndroom</strong>.

<div>Dit is een zeldzame neurologische stoornis die grote invloed heeft op de ontwikkeling van haar vaardigheden en haar vermogen om te praten, lopen en haar handen te gebruiken. Jackie zal afhankelijk worden van intensieve zorg, een rolstoel, een spraakcomputer en nog vele andere hulpmiddelen die haar in het dagelijks leven moeten gaan ondersteunen.

<div>Toch blijft Jackie een vrolijk, stralend meisje wat veel lacht en geniet van alles wat ze ziet, zeker sinds ze haar bril heeft. Ze is dol op haar broers en zus, die haar overladen met aandacht, knuffels en kusjes. Het is een sterk en liefdevol gezin wat ondanks alles probeert zoveel mogelijk samen te ondernemen, zodat ook Jackie volledig kan meegenieten.

<div><strong>Waarom</strong> <strong>deze</strong> <strong>actie?</strong>
</div>
<div>Helaas komen er op dit moment verschillende financiële uitdagingen op hun pad. In Nederland is gelukkig veel goed geregeld, maar het is niet allemaal goedkoop. En alles komt ook nog ineens tegelijk en sneller dan verwacht.

<div>Het grootste probleem is op dit moment vervoer. Hun auto is kapot, en Jackie is daar erg afhankelijk van; ze moet wekelijks naar therapieën, het ziekenhuis en de opvang wat allemaal niet lukt zonder auto. Daarnaast zal Jackie binnenkort volledig afhankelijk zijn van haar <strong>rolstoel</strong>, waardoor een gewone auto niet meer voldoet. Een <strong>rolstoelbus</strong> is de enige manier om haar veilig te vervoeren en als gezin samen op pad te kunnen blijven gaan.

<div>Alsof dat nog niet genoeg is, zijn ze bovendien genoodzaakt om op korte termijn te <strong>verhuizen</strong> naar een woning waar Jackie beneden haar slaapkamer heeft. Twee grote en zeer kostbare stappen tegelijk.

<div>Daarom wil ik hen heel graag helpen met deze actie, om de zorgen om vervoer weg te nemen en bij te dragen aan een <strong>rolstoelbus</strong>.
</div>
<div>Zo kunnen ze met <strong>Jackie</strong> naar al haar afspraken, wordt ze veilig vervoerd in haar rolstoel en, niet geheel onbelangrijk, kan het gezin weer samen dingen ondernemen. Iets wat voor vele gezinnen vanzelfsprekend is maar voor hen nu onmogelijk zonder hulp.

<div>De kosten voor een bus en de <strong>noodzakelijke</strong> <strong>aanpassingen</strong> bedragen ongeveer €40.000,-. Een bedrag wat naast alle andere kosten, simpelweg nu niet is op te brengen voor dit jonge gezin.

<div>Elke bijdrage –groot of klein– brengt hen een stapje dichter bij de vrijheid om, samen met Jackie, als gezin weer te kunnen bewegen.

<div>I’m starting this fundraiser for my youngest niece, <strong>Jackie</strong>, and her parents.
</div>
<div>This beautiful, sweet little girl, almost 3 years old, is the youngest of four wonderful children of my sister Danja and her husband Ben.
</div>

<div>Shortly after Jackie was born, her parents noticed that her development was different. After several medical examinations, they received the heartbreaking news: <strong>Jackie</strong> <strong>has</strong> <strong>RETT</strong> <strong>syndrome</strong>.
</div>
<div>This is a rare neurological disorder that severely affects the development of her skills and her ability to talk, walk, and use her hands. Jackie will become dependent on intensive care, a wheelchair, a speech generated computer, and many other aids to support her daily life.
</div>

<div>Despite all this, Jackie remains a cheerful, radiant girl who laughs a lot and enjoys everything she sees — especially since she got her glasses. She adores her brothers and sister, who shower her with attention, hugs, and kisses. They are a strong and loving family who, despite everything, try to do as many things together as possible so that Jackie can fully enjoy life too.

<div><strong>Why</strong> <strong>this</strong> <strong>fundraiser?</strong>
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, they are currently facing several financial challenges. Luckily, a lot is well arranged in the Netherlands, but not everything is affordable — and now everything seems to come at once and faster than expected.
</div>

</div>
<div>The biggest issue right now is transportation. Their car has broken down, and Jackie relies heavily on it for her weekly therapy sessions, hospital visits, and daycare — all of which are impossible without a vehicle.
</div>
<div>On top of that, Jackie will soon be fully dependent on her <strong>wheelchair</strong>, meaning a regular car will no longer suffice. A <strong>wheelchair</strong>-<strong>accessible</strong> <strong>van</strong> is the only safe way for her to travel and for the family to continue going out together.
</div>

<div>As if that weren’t enough, they also urgently need to move to a new home where Jackie can have her bedroom on the ground floor. Two major and very costly steps all at once.
</div>

</div>
<div>That’s why I want to help them through this campaign — to take away the stress around transportation and contribute toward a wheelchair-accessible van.
</div>
<div>With it, they can get Jackie to all her appointments safely, she can travel comfortably in her wheelchair, and — just as importantly — the family can once again go places together. Something so many families take for granted, but which has now become impossible for them without help.
