<div>Greetings and Blessings my wonderful community of friends, family and acquaintances (some of whom I have yet to meet!), Kiyoko Soaring-Eagle here. As you may or may not know, I was hospitalized for 13 days with severe pneumonia so progressed my doctor told me that "I could have died".

<div>My extreme condition required emergency surgery and the insertion of draining tubes into my lungs---where I had contracted a salmonella infection. Unfortunately, while hospitalized, I picked up a staph infection and anemia. However, I feel that this last infection was a kind of blessing as it kept me from being transferred to a secondary, rehab facility--I did not have the energy or strength to adjust to a new environment. So I remained at Cottage Hospital where I was able to use my energy to heal before returning home.

<div>After I was released, it took me several weeks to get back on my feet enough to be able to gradually resume my work as a massage therapist. Though my insurance covered some of my expenses, I have not been able to recoup the amount of income I lost or pay for non-cove red medical expenses. These costs are about to $17,000. I am adding $3,000 to my goal though as I have been doing without needed alternative health care of late (acupuncture and network chiropractic). Having these uninsured service will help me complete my recovery faster.
