<div>Our courageous and determined daughter, Kira, is battling late-stage chronic Lyme disease and multiple co-infections that have ravaged her nervous system and body. Kira was bitten by an infected tick at the age of three and, due to false negative lab results, her symptoms went undiagnosed and untreated for 15 years.

<div>If Lyme is not diagnosed or treated in its early stages, it transitions to a chronic, highly problematic, late-stage disease, and symptoms increase in their severity.

<div><strong>Once Upon a Time</strong>
</div>
<div>Our 33-year-old daughter, Kira, started life with Shirley Temple-like blonde curls and a zest for life. Fearless, curious, and energetic, she was determined to be a gymnast like those she saw on TV. For nine years, she excelled under the tutelage of Russian gymnastics coaches, learning the importance of hard work, grit, and determination. She grew into a woman who loved learning and channeled these disciplines into her academic pursuits. A student of philosophy and theology, she was captivated and deeply compelled by the works of great minds like Soren Kierkegaard, G.K. Chesterton, and C.S. Lewis.

<div>She enjoys writing poetry and song lyrics, playing guitar, and spending time with her family and friends. She dreams of running a half-marathon and walking the Camino de Santiago with her brother. Above all else, she lives her life anchored in a deep love for the Lord.

<div>Despite visits to countless doctors, years of incomplete treatment, and incredible perseverance, Kira lives every day with intense debilitating joint, bone, muscle, and nerve pain, worsening mobility challenges, extreme fatigue, and profound cognitive decline. In her words, “maintaining hope feels like psychological warfare that drains her body, mind, and soul.” And yet, she continues to fight, fueled by faith and the belief that healing is possible.

<div>Kira has the opportunity to undergo specialized treatment at the world-renowned St. Georg Klinik (hospital) in Germany—a place where many late-stage Lyme patients have found complete healing after exhausting every other option. This six-week treatment program uses unique, cutting-edge therapies unavailable in the U.S.

<div>The total needed for treatment, travel, hospital accommodation, and two months of aftercare is $92,000. Kira battles a disease that has stolen her health, strength, and livelihood. She is unable to afford this treatment on her own.

<div><strong>For treatment to occur, the entire amount is needed upfront.</strong> It is self-pay. Her state-based health insurance does not cover treatment for Lyme disease.
