Hi all :) I'm Kionna Hadden -- a 25-year-old mom, artist, and advocate for healing through creativity.

I've been accepted as a state finalist to compete in the National American Miss Pageant this weekend coming up, June 20-22nd, and I'm excited to show up as my full self, confident, kind, and empowered.

This isn't at all about a crown for me (although that would be an amazing plus as a first-time pageant contestant!), but about doing something for the little girl in me who was and felt unseen and unheard, and standing as a woman giving others the space to be seen and heard.

I need your help:

I work full-time, am a mother (trying to change our circumstances alone), and I'm still chasing this dream even when those closest to me don't believe in me or what I am trying to accomplish for myself, even though I haven't felt seen. I've never gone to prom, homecoming, had senior pictures, and my accomplishments weren't really praised, as I've always gotten told that that's what I'm supposed to do, so this is a big way for me to show that little girl who felt unseen and unheard that she matters and she can do anything she sets her mind to, even when life tries to make her believe otherwise!
